Details of What We Offer

KJRA is a boutique business development firm with capabilities augmented by multiple collaborators.  Our virtual approach taps into a broad and deep array of essential business services, configuring them into custom service suites.  Each suite is individually tailored to meet a particular client's needs and means.  We confidently say "If it's business planning or marketing, we do it."

Small to medium-sized companies like yours come to us to fortify their strategic and marketing processes.  Our participation enables you to capture a larger share of more valuable business in your space, sooner than would otherwise happen.

We bring bolt-on high performance to your business. To work with us is to instantly add highly capable strategic planning and marketing to your existing business system.  Think about what we do for you by pondering your business life cycle, starting with some bright start up ideas scribbled on a napkin and ending with an eventual transfer of ownership.

We fall into step with what you have going on at any phase of your company's development.  You gain a new, fully operational business development capability that feeds your sales pipeline for years.  We're there when you need us and gone when you don't.

The following steps form a rough guide through a company life cycle.  Along the way, there could be any number of projects, depending on your needs.  These examples are for illustration.

Feasibility Audit -- What if you want to start a business but you're rightly concerned about risks?  We recommend you subject your business brainchild to some up-front scrutiny before even starting on a business plan.  This will save you time, cash, and heartache, and infuse a workable concept with the energy of justified confidence.

We assess your business idea to determine risks of implementation.  We freely contribute our own strategic thinking if we can enhance any aspect, like profitability, scalability, operational elegance, market acceptance, or start up schedule.  We help mitigate your concerns about proving your idea in practice.  We don't pull punches.  Whether we see a winner or a loser, we tell it like it is.  You get a written report plus meetings to start your audit and receive our findings.

Start Up Business Plan with Internal Marketing Plan -- Let's say you've decided to go ahead with a new start up and you agree articulating a plan is the right way to begin.  Depending on how you'll finance your venture, you'll need either a rough and ready, but detailed and workable profit system (to bootstrap) or a polished presentation plan ready for seeking a bank loan or even venture capital.

The only worthwhile business plan comes from the thinking of the owner(s) -- so we don't do it for you, we lead you through it and write your plan.  The marketing plan portion will set you free by making clear all the steps you need to take, day by day, to assure you meet your sales goals.

Business Plan for a Going Concern
-- If you acquired or started a business that would benefit from better organization or complete re-organization, writing a business plan is the best way to go because the process makes you think through all your systems and processes, opening opportunities for improvements from bottom to top.  In the end you can see your way clear to sustainable profitability and cash flow.
Unless you seek partners or financing you don't need a presentation plan.  Depending on complexity, it could even be a one-page plan.

Marketing Plan for a Going Concern -- Assume your company has been operating for a while but you're aware you could benefit from help with acquiring more new business.  The best approach is to perform a situation analysis to create a sharply focused picture of where things stand and then determine what assets can be leveraged and where you have exposure.  We look at your offerings and market to determine the best ways to stimulate sales while minimizing risks.  You get a comprehensive, written, one year marketing plan with a schedule of all activity and an offer for us to implement your plan with you, providing all resources you need through our creative associates.

Marketing Components -- In this scenario, you have created a going concern and a marketing method and you need help with executing your marketing components and activities.  We bring everything needed to form a new brand or re-brand, including value propositions and elements like a logo, company name, product names, tag lines, a Unique Selling Proposition (USP,) and so on.  Once your new brand exists, we use the elements to create all the marketing materials you need, such as a stationery package, brochures, sell sheets, forms, signage, and other collateral.

Beyond just 'creating a web site,' we offer an entire web presence, including a content-based marketing hub with spokes that connect you with your market through multiple channels that reach your customers wherever they are online -- from online directory listings, to fully authored blogs, to e-newsletters, to social media.  Integrating a catalog and checkout system produces an e-commerce operation.  We also generate powerful advertising programs, campaigns, and ads for print and digital media, including co-op (subsidized) programs that create 'pull' in your sales channels.

The list goes on -- please review the portfolio page on this web site for an array of examples and remember -- there's little marketing we can't produce for you -- including reputation management (also known as public relations) as well as event planning and sponsorships.  We usually build some forms of PR into most marketing plans.

Advanced Marketing Processes -- Now your self sufficient going concern seeks growth -- new ways to bring in new business or generate more business from existing customers.  Or perhaps you want more ideal clients and fewer less desirable ones.  We're available to confer with you to take stock, catalyze a new vision, and plan your jump to a new phase.

We offer word-of-mouth referral marketing development and co-operative advertising programs for both ad producers and local advertisers.  We bring training to help you enlist every member of your organization into marketing.  We train your staff to develop leads, and up-sell and cross-sell clients more services and products.

Exit Plans -- Finally, you've achieved your goals and feel ready to wind up business and cash out the years of effort you put into growing your business.  Come to us before announcing your intent to sell.  We'll help you navigate the complexities -- maintaining control; grooming your business to get the best price; determining value and setting your reserve price; finding a good buyer; forging a creative deal; presenting your business in its best light; and negotiating and closing the deal of a lifetime.
